Rudolf Brazda was born on June 26th of May 1913 in Brossen, Germany. Brazda not only experienced Nazi behavior in the camp but also before. of course there are ups and downs when it comes to admitting your sexuality but in the 30's people were more conseved and people were appalled. One time Brazda was with his boyfriend at a cafe shop and they were dragged out of the cafe by the hair .
Rudolf Brazda was an open gay man of just twenty when Hitler rose to power. He would attend meetings that homosexual had. He and his peers had freedom and could be openly gay back then until Hitler started to raid gay bars. Nazis implemented anti-gay laws to halt homosexual acts. He was held in custody for innapropriate love letters with his then current partner, He spent a total of one year in jail where he was transported to the Buchenwald camp. he was given the number 7952.
In the camp he was given the duty to the quarry's infirmary. Later he was moved to the roofers unit where he got extra portions of food because he was part of kommandoes unit. the reason Brazda even survived was because a beneficial gaurd helped him by hiding him in an animal pen in the camp. The other members weren't as lucky as Brazda though because they were bieng herded for a death march. Brazda stayed in that animal pen for fourteen days straight until the Americans came to liberate anyone who was still alive. Life after the Holocaust was better, of course anything would be better than bieng imprisoned in hell. So yeah, life was better but not easy.
